This is a one-step air fryer breakfast that brings bacon, egg and toast together on a single slice. You butter a slice of bread, coil a rasher of bacon into a nest on top, crack an egg into the centre, and air fry the whole thing. At 180°C for 10 minutes you get a firm egg; for a runny yolk, start the bread and bacon first and add the egg later. Serve as-is or with a splash of sauce.
Ingredients
- 2 slicesbread
- butter, softened, for spreading
- 2 rashersstreaky bacon
- 2 largeeggs
- salt and pepper (add late)
Method
Butter each slice of bread on the top side.
~1 minTake a rasher of bacon, twist it slightly to hold its shape, and coil it into a nest on top of each buttered slice.
~2 minTransfer the bread into the air fryer basket. Press the bacon down gently to form a seal around the centre so the egg stays put.
~1 minCrack an egg into a small bowl, then tip it carefully into the centre of each bacon nest.
~1 minAir fry at 180°C for 10 minutes for a firm egg. For a runny yolk, cook the bread and bacon alone for 5 minutes first, then add the egg and finish.
~10 minLift out carefully, season with salt and pepper if you like, and serve straight away with sauce of your choice.
